#32 Vogue (May 2004)
Photographer Irving Penn captures Nicole Kidmans back profile dressed in a Christian Lacroix oyster satin backless dress for this cover of the May 2004 issue of Vogue. This was the first cover shoot for Vogue by Penn since 1989. The issue contains more photographs of Kidman dressed as a Grecian goddess, an Italian diva and as legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt.
My description: This photo is great. I like how the girls back is to the reader of the magazine. I like how the background contrasts with her dress and what she's wearing. The lighting is also a little dim which makes the picture even better. Her head is tilted and facing towards the side so that gives off an "im sassy" expression of the lady. The title "VOGUE" also contrasts with the picture and the background, tieing the whole cover together.

Magazine Cover Introduction

The cover being emotionally irresistible, glows in vivid colors, if the cover pops out from its background, and making a unique vivid cover.

Lytro Warm-up

1. I saw the photo get clearer and more in focus.
2. It zooms in a little more and puts the picture in focus.
3. The photographer would need to know how to work the ISO setting to get the perfect light for the picture.
4. I don't think its worth it because normal cameras would work betetr for me.

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II AND Rules of Photography Part II

I think tips # 9 and 10 are most important, because being yourself in a self portrait is really important and easy to do, and using props makes the photo more fun to look at.

I like this photo because it's cool how its black and white and only the balloons are colored. I picked this photo because the background is a graveyard and I thought that was cool.

I like this photo because the girl is using props and she's making the picture more interesting. I picked this photo because all the bright colors are entertaining to look at.

I like this photo because it shows rules of thirds. I picked this photo because the dark alley was a cool setting.

I like this photo because the emotion on the girls face is expressed vividly and thoroughly. I picked this photo because the hand shadows make it more interesting.

I like this photo because the clarity and focus is perfect. I picked this photo because the background is blurry and the subject is clear.

I like this photo because the cowboy is in motion. I picked this photo because I think beach pictures are interesting.

I want to shoot my friend Alyssa Rodriguez (freshman) because she used to be a model and she takes really good photos. I want to take pictures outside maybe in the grass or near flowers, in the courtyard or in front of the school by the flower beds. I want to do a couple of closeups and some far away. I want to do rule of thirds photos.
